The challenge
The agency runs day tours across Italy but had a thin backlink profile for the space — Domain Rating sat at just 10, with very little referring-domain footprint to support genuine search authority against more established tour operators.
Our approach
We focused on building a genuinely stronger backlink profile from the ground up: sourcing new referring domains relevant to travel and tourism, growing the site's backlink count substantially, and tracking AI Overview visibility alongside traditional search as AI-driven discovery has become part of how travellers research day tours.
What we shipped: 560 new referring domains and 6.4K new backlinks built, taking Domain Rating from 10 to 35.
We strengthened the agency's backlink profile, increased its authority, and expanded its visibility across both traditional search and AI results. Domain Rating climbed from 10 to 35, referring domains grew to 646 (560 of them new), and the site picked up 23 additional pages appearing in AI Overviews — a clear sign the link building work is translating into broader visibility, not just a stronger backlink count on paper.
